Fiberglass & Mineral Wool Insulation

CQ supplies and installs fiberglass and mineral wool batt and blown insulation on multifamily projects throughout the country in accordance with UL designs, NFPA code, and local AHJ requirements.  Typically, batts are installed between studs at walls and ceilings of all wood framed projects as thermal barrier to increase energy efficiency of the building. We offer superior thermal performance with a wide range of products available from R-8 to R-49.  Fiberglass and mineral wool insulation are also on interior walls to minimize sound transmission from room to room.

Rigid Insulation

Most commonly used rigid insulation is either expanded/extruded polystyrene board or polyisocyanurate board insulation. This product is predominantly used as thermal insulation on concrete block walls in institutional buildings or freezer/refrigeration units.

Foil Insulation

Foil insulation is composed of multiple layers of low emittance (low-e) materials designed to significantly reduce radiant heat transfer. The inside layer is a metalized polymer. The outside layer is reinforced aluminum foil kraft paper bonded with a fire retardant adhesive. The layers expand when installed to form a reflective air space to provide enhanced thermal performance and protect the low emittance surface from the performance reducing effects of dust accumulation. Since metalized and foil-based aluminum products have a near zero water vapor permeance, the insulation is perforated to allow water vapor transmission.

Semi Rigid Insulation

Semi rigid insulation is a higher density fiberglass or mineral wool insulation. This material is commonly used behind spandrel glass panels to provide increased R-value to the exterior building envelope.
