Open Cell Spray Foam

Open cell spray foam is most commonly used in wood framing. Being far more expansive than closed cell foam, when applied to provides R-3.1 per inch. Open cell provides a complete seal within wood framing whether it is applied in an attic truss or exterior wall system. Having different adhesive properties than closed cell, this material cannot be used on concrete or metal structures.

Closed Cell Spray Foam

CQ uses closed cell spray foam in a variety of different applications. Ranging from R-8.3 to R-38 in thermal value (R-7.4 per inch), closed cell spray is used in wood framing wall/attic systems and most commonly – concrete podium structures on mixed used multifamily apartments. A thermal barrier, applied over the closed cell spray foam, is also available if the closed cell spray foam is required to have a protective seal and a 15-minute burn rating.

Monoglass and Thermacoustics

An alternative to closed cell or open cell spray foam, this product is most commonly used under elevated podiums to provide both acoustical and thermal benefits.  This product is composed of glass fiber and a non-hazardous water-based material.  The single-step spray-applied material can be left exposed or it can be covered, depending on the design and type of application/assembly.
